Carmel's potatoes end the potato year with 30 varieties for every need

Carmel’s potatoes end the potato year with a march of thirty varieties to cater every need: boiled, fried, cooked, mashed or roasted.

Nicola ,Dita,Vivaldi , Marable, M.Peer ,red Sherry, are just a sample of the varieties that take part in the potato export celebration.
First shipment will leave Israel on November 19th and will continue till July.

Feast will begin in the U.K. with a shipment of new potatoes,
Nicola and M.Peer. freshly picked from the fields, considerably small and without skin. Next in line are Spain, France, the Netherlands, Germany, Norway, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Russia, Greece, Belgium and Poland.

Potatoes are grown in the southern part of Israel, in the Negev, under the blue skies and the warm sun rays. An area of 2400 hectares yields a produce of 105,000 tonnes.

Nuki Noifeld, Product Manager in Agrexco informed that forecast for this season is 100,000 tonnes, a rise of twenty percent from last season.

Agrexco attaches great importance to food safety and its potatoes growers, as well as growers of other produce, are committed to meeting the most stringent international standards including EurepGAP.
The potatoes undergo a thorough scrutiny before leaving Israel and once again in a sorting station in the U.K. or in France, depending on their destination.
