| Agrexco Shipped Today, First Corn Crops, Marking The Advent of the Export Season. |
|
First deliveries from the southern Arava region with its favourable climate assure that corn arrives early yet in full maturity to the market. This is accomplished by sophisticated techniques, where crops are sown and cultivated in tunnels
At a later stage, corn from other regions, mainly central Israel, will ripen and be harvested, to assure a continuous export stream, a total of 500 tonnes, the same as last season.
Tidhar Jacson, Product Manager in Agrexco stated that "the main characteristic of Carmel Sweet Corn and other corn varieties, is its unmatched high quality which is a rare phenomena."
Sigalit Berenzon (M.Sc), Technology Coordinator in Agrexco, informed that the Super Sweet variety has 2-3 times more sucrose than other corn varieties and its sweetness remains for a long period of time. "The corn," she added," is a good source for protein, fibers and vitamins (A,B & C)."
Needless to say that the corn is grown according to the European standards and its quality complies with the most stringent standards and criteria.
