Spring Is In The Air But Agrexco's First Shipment of Carmel's Stone Fruit is On Its Way To Europe
Apricot, Nectarine, Pita Nectarine, Plum, Peach and Pear form the big family of stone fruits. Long known and beloved for their taste yet this year they come with a new twist, adding to their beauty, charm and taste.

Although the first shipment contains only peaches, other fruit varieties will soon follow with some novelties: The orange apricot has a new variety, redder, almost purple-red and sweeter. The pear has a new family member, nicknamed Red Druz, because of its red chick.

Davidi Hayman, product manager in Agrexco said he believes that "this year’s export will reach last year’s record of 5000 tonnes, in spite of the economic crisis." He added that, "Europe is the target for the stone fruit since Europeans appreciate premium fruits and their unique tastes. Our goal is to offer new, tastier varieties with redder inner texture. "

Most of the fruits are grown in the northern part of Israel according to the most stringent European standards.
